Starlink is the world’s largest satellite constellation, providing fast, reliable internet to millions of users worldwide. We design, build, test, and operate all parts of the system – thousands of satellites, consumer antennas that allow users to connect within minutes of unboxing, and the software that brings it all together. We’ve only begun to scratch the surface of Starlink’s potential global impact, and we are looking to add an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to help build our presence in Bastrop, TX.

As a member of the construction projects team, you will work with a group of elite engineers across multiple disciplines to design, build, and activate electrical infrastructure for a variety of projects at the Starlink production facility. You will have the opportunity to drive positive change and own projects from start to finish with the goal of making the SpaceX campus a world-class manufacturing facility. This position is based in Bastrop, TX (Austin area).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead the project team, consulting engineers, and contractors throughout the entirety of the engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning process for power-specific scope items
• Manage the design, development, and issuance of drawings, documentation, and reports for manufacturing line projects
• Write, negotiate, and manage construction contracts with subcontractors across multiple disciplines from conceptual design through close out and activation
• Resolve design and construction conflicts in the field in real-time
• Coordinate with electrical utility provider for design/engineering to ensure reliable power service to critical site infrastructure
• Interact with engineers, contractors, vendors, fabricators, and project stakeholders

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in electrical, civil, mechanical, or other engineering discipline
• 3+ years of professional experience with the design or build of commercial or industrial power systems
  

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Direct field experience with day-to-day management on a construction site
• Experience in conceptual design and budgeting
• Experience with general electrical construction
• Experience in managing engineering, procurement, and construction process for manufacturing type projects
• High volume production experience (electronics, automotive, or similar)
• AutoCAD/Revit – beginner to intermediate skill level
• Primary experience with electrical and power distribution systems (<600Vac)
• Working knowledge of delta/wye transformers, switchgear, motor control centers, building lighting, building construction specifications, and facility grounding
• Experience with critical power infrastructure including UPS systems, backup generators, and automatic transfer switches
• Able to quickly assess an issue and assist technicians with troubleshooting and repair
• Acute attention to detail and ability to see interactions with other systems to avoid problems
• Familiarity with the National Electric Code, National Fire Protection Association, and International Building Code
  

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:    

Pay range:    
Electrical Engineer/Level I:  $100,000.00 - $120,000.00/per year    
Electrical Engineer/Level II: $115,000.00 - $135,000.00/per year    

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
