Job Description

The University of Iowa Department of Internal Medicine is seeking faculty for a position(s) in the Division of Gastroenterology-Hepatology. Appointment rank may be at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor level and to either the tenure track, research track or clinical (non-tenure) track consistent with clinical experience and research interest. Appointment at the rank of Instructor (non-track) may also be considered.

Requirements:
  • Candidates of all experience levels are encouraged to apply
  • Must have MD (or equivalent) and show successful completion of an approved residency program in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Gastroenterology
  • Must be eligible to obtain or currently hold an active medical license in the state of Iowa and DEA, along with Controlled Substance License
  • Must be Board Certified in Gastroenterology (or foreign equivalent) OR in the certification process pending completion of residency or fellowship
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications 

Faculty appointments with significant administrative/leadership responsibilities must include a required qualification about job-related experience with fostering a welcoming and respectful work/academic environment or otherwise demonstrate the ability to foster a welcoming and respectful work/academic environment. Successful candidates will be required to self-disclose any misconduct history or pending research misconduct investigation including but not limited to sexual misconduct in prior employment and provide a related release and will be subject to a criminal background and credential check.
