Basic Function:
This role will complete graphic design projects and assist in supporting and executing Club marketing, promotional and branding initiatives.
Job Function (Duties & Responsibilities):
• Work with the Art Director, Creative Director, and other designers to create design projects as assigned, applying imagination, creativity, and originality from brainstorming phase through to print and digital production.
• Complete graphic design projects as assigned including original creation or edits of campaigns, signage, event collateral social media and web graphics within club brand guidelines.
• Collaborate with printers to develop new creative and cost-effective looks and ways to create Club design products, including identifying higher quality, more cost-effective printing resources and products.
• Complete projects within designated timelines.
• Assist with copywriting, copyediting and proofreading as assigned.
• Work efficiently with internal departments and external clients to meet design needs and goals and ensure a high level of satisfaction of graphic design projects.
• Participate, as requested, in all departmental and Club events including home and away gameday activities.
• Help maintain brand consistency across all Club assets including internal departments (video, website, social media, etc.), advertising, partner activations, etc.
• Assist with the creative graphic design services for Lone Star Sports and Entertainment events and initiatives from conceptualization to finished copy and printing.
• Perform various other tasks that may be assigned from time to time by the Art Director and other departmental leadership.
• Position requires routine face-to-face personal interaction with staff, senior level executives, players, coaches and ownership; therefore, job responsibilities must be physically performed in the Club offices and not in a telecommuting manner.
Skills Required:
• Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Microsoft Office software applications in PC and MAC environment.
• Strong graphic design knowledge and experience including a solid understanding of layout, hierarchy, typography, color theory, patterns, and other design principles.
• Strong skillset in designing graphics for apparel and other merchandise items.
• Strong skillset in designing logos and usage of logo assets.
• Working knowledge of printing processes and press checks.
• Proven ability to apply working knowledge of creative writing, copywriting, and copyediting skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a high-energy environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to create and maintain solid working relationships at all levels externally and across the organization.
• Possess excellent attention to detail and an ability to produce high-quality, accurate work within designated deadlines.
• Ability to maintain confidential and/or proprietary information.
• Ability and internal drive to demonstrate a positive, winning attitude and a strong work ethic in the performance of all job responsibilities.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Education/Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited college or university with a concentration in graphic design, marketing or related field preferred.
• High School Diploma required.
• Minimum of five (5) years relevant work experience preferred.
