Software Engineer, Embedded Systems, Android

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• 2 years of experience with software development in C/C++/Java programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
• 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms.
• 2 years of experience working with embedded operating systems.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
• Experience developing accessible technologies.
• Experience with Android framework.
• Experience with tools development.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering design and implementation of the Android framework, ensuring seamless updates between system and vendor partitions.
  
• Foster and lead cross-team efforts within and outside Google to achieve team goals.
• Collaborate with major partners to ensure quality Board Support Packages (BSPs) are available alongside Android Open Source Project (AOSP) releases.
• Drive initiatives to significantly speed up Android dessert upgrades.
• Develop and maintain an understanding of Android, mobile systems, system development, optimization, and performance tuning.
