WHAT YOU'LL DO:

HiveWatch is in search of a Systems Engineer to join our Technical Enablement team, reporting to the Engineering Manager for Technical Enablement. The TE team’s mission is to enable HiveWatch Technology Team’s success through reliable lab infrastructure, tools, & processes. We identify and mitigate risk through collaborative technical discovery, sharing knowledge, spearheading new integrations to external systems, and expanding our product offering to new markets.

As a Systems Engineer on the Technology Enablement team you will:

  • Expand and manage our R&D lab to enable the integration and testing of Physical Security hardware including Access Control and Camera Systems
  • Collaborate with Sales and Implementation Engineers to plan, stage, and test our products in realistic customer production-like scenarios
  • Plan, architect, and implement a system to address Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery for our lab environment, and test regularly to ensure its reliability
  • Become a subject matter expert for other teams on industry standard Access Control and Camera systems and protocols as they relate to our customers and products 
  • Participate in end-to-end testing of HiveWatch’s technical product offering by collaborating closely with other parts of the engineering and product teams

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Expertise in Unix/Linux OS including installation and updates, common administrative utilities, package management, and networking and security administration
  • Experience working with a variety of virtualization platforms (VMware ESXi + Workstation, Proxmox, etc.)
  • Experience configuring networks in development environments
  • Confidence to configure a system from scratch and refine its design in concert with a team
  • Enthusiasm to learn new technologies and communicate openly with the greater team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

NICE TO HAVE:

  • Experience working directly with Value Added Resellers (VARs) and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs)
  • Experience working inside of leading Access Control Systems (Lenel, CCURE, Genetec, etc.)
  • Experience with distributed systems on a large scale
  • Experience working in an Agile environment (Jira)
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Server products, PowerShell, SQL Server
  • Experience wiring up and tinkering with Arduinos, Raspberry Pis, or other microcontroller-type boards
  • Experience with AWS / Cloud computing / Docker / Kubernetes  (We use Terraform infrastructure as code)
  • Experience with programming and scripting in the DevOps/sysadmin realm in languages such as Python, and bash

ADDITIONAL INFO:

  • Salary range for this position: $120,000 to $140,000 per year
  • Eligible to participate in HiveWatch Equity Incentive Plan
