Summary About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and is located at the Ramstein Lodging Facility in Ramstein, Germany. This position may offer logistical support. The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of tasks involved in the upkeep and maintenance of Lodging facilities, grounds, and utilities. Work requires considerable standing, stooping, and bending. Work is moderately heavy. Heavy lifting occasionally of 50 pounds and more is required. Requirements Conditions of Employment This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results. Incumbent must be physically in Germany before a firm/final job offer can be received. Must have and maintain a valid U.S. and USAREUR driver’s license. This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use. This position requires the incumbent to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Qualifications Who May Apply: Open to everyone. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience Must have general knowledge of painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, locks, and other general maintenance experience, or have experience in similar work which provides general knowledge of tasks required in the position description. Must have a working knowledge of various hand and power tools. Must be able to follow oral and written instructions in English. Must be able to operate up to 2.5 ton truck. Must be able to meet all physical requirements prescribed in the position description and must possess a valid driver's license and USAREUR license. Must be able to life a minimum of 50 pounds. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a preemployment physical as well as scheduled periodic physicals. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a T1 investigation (NACI); filling a position of trust. This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying. U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. Territory for three (3) or more consecutive years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation. All Federal NAF employees are required by PL 104-134 to have salary payments made by electronic funds transfer/direct deposit. Probationary period may be required.
