Ability to work occasional Saturdays for special events (IF REQUIRED BY MANAGEMENT).
A successful background investigation submission to the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) must be met no later than 30 calendar days after entry on duty or placement in the position for internal candidates.
Appointment is subject to the completion of a favorable suitability determination.

Must have knowledge, skills and ability to perform the duties listed above to include the ability to use and maintain the tools and equipment of the trade, to keep the assigned work area neat and clean, and to communicate both orally and in writing.

Education
Foreign Education: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.

Area of Consideration:
The Area of Consideration for this vacancy announcement is Landstuhl, Germany and surrounding area within 50-mile radius; in addition to, you are considered eligible if one of the following applies: 1) you live outside of this area and are able to commute to work on a daily/as needed basis, 2) you are able to relocate yourself on your own expenses, 3) you are an involuntarily separated military member, or 4) you are a military spouse/family member relocating to this installation. Spouses/family members do not receive preference until arrival at the overseas location. (Military Spouse Preference (MSP) and Involuntarily Separated Military Preference (ISMP) eligible candidates are included in the area of consideration).
Please note: To be considered eligible Germany SOFA requirements must be met. In addition, to be considered for employment at this location, the incumbent must be a U.S. Citizen or legal U.S. Resident residing in/around the area as noted in this Job Opportunity Announcement.
Salary Information:
New FWS appointments will be made at the minimum step rate for the appropriate grade below.
Step/ Hourly rate is:
Step 1: $17.60
Step 2: $18.34
Step 3: $19.07
Step 4: $19.81
Step 5: $20.54
except as follows:
1) Garrison commanders or equivalent are authorized to make appointments at the second step rate in recognition of special qualifications, skills, and experience of an exceptional or highly specialized nature.
2) Upon reemployment and reinstatement to a NAF position, the entrance salary may be fixed at any rate for the appropriate grade that does not exceed the rate paid during the previous employment. However, if the highest previous rate falls between two rates of the grade, the employee may be paid at the higher rate
PCS Costs
Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
FWS Allowances and Differentials
This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position. All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee.
Regular full-time, regular part-time (to include those in a limited tenure appointment category) and regularly scheduled flexible employees are entitled to Sunday premium pay when working Sunday shifts. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 7.5% for the entire shift when a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 1500 and 2400. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 10% of the scheduled rate if a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 2300-0800.
Foreign Overseas Allowances
Foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
